Expert Mole and Beauty Mark Removal
Many people have moles or as they are sometimes called beauty marks. The terminology is one and the same as both moles and beauty marks are identical because they both have an increased concentration of melanocytes (melanin cells) in their skin. People who are born with moles are genetically determined. Some people have sun-induced moles which can be minimized by sunscreen and avoiding excessive sun tanning.
While moles can be benign, the first step is to have your mole examined by a physician to make sure that it is benign before a cosmetic removal is done. Dr. Sheila Bond will conduct an examination and advise you if you are a candidate for cosmetic mole/beauty mark removal.
How Are Beauty Marks/Moles Removed?
The procedure used to remove your beauty mark or mole is dependent upon if your more is flat or raised. The difference is that if your mole is raised, it will be deeper in your skin, whereby a deeper incision must be made to remove the mole. A few stitches will be needed. If the mole is flat, it is typically “scooped out.” Both procedures are done with local anesthesia to aid in your comfort.
Dr. Bond will advise you on the recommended treatment based on your beauty marks. Contact us today to schedule your consultation.
